Managing Director of Local Housing Companies steps down

It is with regret that we announce that Bill Flood, Managing Director (MD) of the Local Housing Companies (LHCs) – Wokingham Housing, Berry Brook Homes and Loddon Homes – will be leaving at the end of October 2019. Bill is leaving to take up the post of Chief Executive for Mount Green Housing Association.

Bill joined the LHCs in 2015 and with his small team, has been instrumental in growing the organisations to where they are today. During his four year tenure, Bill led on an impressive development programme constructing over 146 affordable homes in the Borough, including our flagship developments of Phoenix Avenue and Fosters Extra care scheme. He has also overseen the granting of planning permission for a further 62 homes to be built, including Gorse Ride Arnett Avenue phase 1 project, which are now under construction or due to be  in the coming months.

In his role as MD, Bill established our two housing companies which act as landlords, and appointed independent boards to oversee and scrutinise their operations. He was pivotal in registering Loddon Homes as the country’s first, wholly council owned for-profit, registered provider of social housing. Through this registration Loddon Homes has been able to generate its own revenue through its housing portfolio as well as securing over £4million in grant funding for the provision of much needed social and affordable housing in the Borough.

It is with thanks that we say goodbye to Bill and wish him the very best of luck in his new role.
